Mens Cross Country Finishes 14th At NCAA Regionals
CUMBERLAND, Maine, Nov. 13, 2004- Springfield College sophomore
Pat Hepper (Bernards, N.J.) finished 43rd to lead the Pride to 14th place out of 39 teams at the NCAA Division III Regional Championships hosted by Southern Maine.
This was the Pride's best finish since running to eighth place in 2000. Tufts won the meet.
Hepper covered the eight-kilometer course in 27:15 to lead the Pride, while sophomore
Tetsuji Kambara (Osaka, Japan) finished 84th (28:03) in the field of 280 runners. Senior captain
Steve Wilson (West Hartford, Conn.), competing in his last collegiate cross-country race, finished five seconds behind Kambara in 86th place,
Sophomore
Pat Gann (Guilford, Conn.) (94th, 28:16) and junior captain
Scott Barton (Fort Plain, N.Y.) (107th, 28:33) finished fourth and fifth on the team, respectively. Senior
Pat DeRocco (Utica, N.Y) crossed the finish line in 120th place (28:45) and junior
Chris Hamel (Methuen, Mass.) finished in 144th (29:45).

Head Coach Bryan Brown

Bryan Brown will enter his second season as the head men's cross country coach in the fall of 2012. Brown, who was a former All-American at Springfield College in track, led Springfield to a second-place finish at the NEWMAC Championships a year ago .
