UMass-Dartmouth Holds Off Baseball, 2-0
NORTH DARTMOUTH, Mass.., March 27, 2003 -- Seniors
Larson Segerdahl (Weston, Conn.) and
Brian Puchalski (S. Deerfield, Mass.) held UMass-Dartmouth to just one earned run, but the Corsairs managed to capture a 2-0 win over the Pride in a non-conference game on Thursday.
This was the first game of the northern portion of the schedule for the Pride (4-5), which posted a solid 4-4 record at the Homestead Challenge in Homestead, Fla.(March 16-22).
UMD (4-8-1) hurler Pat Reedy kept the SC offense off balance, allowing six hits and coaxing the Pride into four double plays. Third baseman Tom Jachimczyk went 3-for-3 and drove in both runs, and second baseman Jeff Nettleton went 3-for-4.
For the Pride, junior second baseman
Dan Samia (North Adams, Mass.) was 2-for-3, and senior first baseman
Dave Folli (Endicott, N.Y.) also had a pair of hits.
