Men's Tennis Falls To Wheaton, 7-0
SPRINGFIELD, Mass., April 3, 2004 - Wheaton college freshman
Payum Payman won at #1 singles and #1 doubles to lead the Lyons to 7-0 victory over Springfield College in New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) men's tennis action today at Appleton Courts.
Payman topped SC senior
Yuta Yoshi (Yokosuka, Japan) 6-3, 6-4, and teamed up with sophomore
Matt Sheers to win their #1 doubles match, 8-2.
SC junior
Rich Aseltine (Tyngsboro, Mass.) took the first game from Lyons freshman
Will Stoddard (Huntington, Vt.), but fell 3-6, 6-4, 6-4 in #3 singles.
The Pride falls to 1-4 (0-1 NEWMAC) while Wheaton improves to 8-1 (1-0 NEWMAC)
