



Stow, Mass. - April 8, 2009 - Led by senior Greg Levings, the Springfield College golf team finished tied for ninth at the Lou Flumere Massachusetts Intercollegiate one-day championship held today at Stow Acres CC.Salem State won the competition with a 302, out-lasting runner-up Nichols College by a dozen strokes as the 20-school field played in cold and snowy conditions.
SC finished tied for ninth with Boston University as it fired a 332 for the day. Levings paced the Pride with a 79 (+7) as he finished in a tie for 16th. Mike LaJoie finished with an 81 on the day, while teammate Craig DiFranco scored an 85 on the Par 72, 6797-yard course.
Jared Slingerland and Junior Balogun rounded out the day for the Pride with scores of 85 and 92, respectively.
Joe Eadie enters his 20th season as the head men's golf coach at Springfield College in the fall of 2012. Eadie is the head golf professional at the Fenway Golf Range in nearby East Longmeadow, and is in the process of becoming a PGA Professional. He also lead the Pride to their first NCAA Division III Championship in program history. Read more.
