



Springfield, Mass. - November 15, 2011 - The Springfield College basketball programs kick off their seasons on Tuesday evening as the men's team hosts Castleton State and the women's team travels to square off against Worcester State.The men's team returns just one starter from last year's team that went 15-11 and reached the semifinals of the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Tournament. This season, head coach Charlie Brock will look to a pair of talented guards in Jordan Rote and Alex Berthiaume to carry the offensive load.
Tonight's men's game will have both live stats, as well as live video.
As for the women's team, head coach Naomi Graves leads a team comprised of talented returners and youthful newcomers. Led by NEWMAC All-Conference First Team selection Kelly Slattery, the Pride will look to improve on a 13-14 season from a year ago when they reached the NEWMAC Championship Semifinal.

Entering her 23rd season as head coach in 2013-14, Naomi Graves has directed her squads to an impressive 323-260 record (.554 winning percentage) since joining the Division III ranks in 1995. Graves has led the Pride to 12 post-season bids in the past 17 years, including five berths in the NCAA Division III Tournament.
