



Babson Park, December 10, 2012 - Michael Normoyle and Kenny Pancoast were recognized by the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) for their efforts in the Springfield College men's swimming and diving victory over Middlebury on Saturday.Pancoast was named the NEWMAC Men's Diver of the Week, while Normoyle garnered NEWMAC Men's Swimmer of the Week honors.
Normoyle, who hails from Springfield, Mass., had a standout meet against the Panthers in the pool. The first-year posted a winning time of 27.50 in the 50 breast and claimed the top time in the 100 breast in 59.98. He later swam the fastest time of the afternoon in the 100 IM after touching in 56.06.
For the second time this season, Pancoast earned the conference recognition. The Monroe, Conn. product registered national qualifying scores on both boards to help Springfield defeat Middlebury. In the one-meter, Pancoast posted a first-place score of 289.65 and earned a 307.58 in the three-meter competition.

John Taffe enters his 25th season in 2013-2014 as the head coach of the men's and women's swimming teams at Springfield College. Under Taffe’s leadership, the Pride has returned to its status as one of the best collegiate swimming and diving programs in Division III. Read more.
Peter Avdoulos is regarded as one of the top diving coaches in the nation, and will enter his 28th season as the diving coach for both the men's and women's programs in 2012-2013.
