Ewing, N.J. - December 7, 2008 - The Springfield College men's and women's swimming teams competed in the third and final day of the Lion Invitational hosted at The College of New Jersey on Sunday with another strong showing.
Kallie Pottle picked up a win in the 200 backstroke in 2:15.03, while Andrew Blakesley was victorious in the 100 freestyle in a time of 46.99.
In the 200 breaststroke, Moira Price cruised to the win as she touched in 2:22.98, winning by nearly eight seconds. Ryan Mackstutis had an equally impressive in the same event on the men's side, winning by over three seconds with a time of 2:13.35.
The Pride had a first place swimmer in both the men's and women's 200 fly as Meredith Trumbull and Brian Way took first. Trumbull finished in a time of 2:14.46 while Way touched in 1:56.84.
In the 400 free relay, the women's team of Price, Aimee Doe, Jaclyn Van Waalwijk and Kaitlin Reilly captured first in 3:39.97.
The Pride return to competition on January 10 when it travels to take on Union and Hartwick in Schenectady, N.Y.
