No. 10 Men's Lacrosse Takes Care Of Clark, 28-1

SPRINGFIELD, Mass., April 15, 2004 – Springfield College freshman attackman
Nicholas Carter (Cheshire, Conn.) registered his first collegiate points, totaling three goals and five assists to lead the No. 10 Pride to a 28-1 victory over Clark University this evening on Benedum Field. The victory gave SC (8-3, 3-0 Pilgrim) its seventh-straight victory, including a 3-0 mark in the Pilgrim League.
Senior midfielder
Craig Gibson (South Salem, N.Y.) put the Pride on the board 1:29 into the game with the first of his two goals to become the highest scoring midfielder in SC history. His 131 career points (92 goals, 39 assists) broke the record set by
Erik Refvik in 2002.
SC never looked back, scoring 13 first-quarter goals en route to 20-unanswered, for a 21-0 lead with 11:23 remaining in the third quarter.
Senior attackman
Evan Race (Austin, Texas) netted the lone Clark (3-6, 1-2 Pilgrim) goal with 10:35 remaining in the third quarter, before seven more Pride goals made the final score, 28-1.
Freshman midfielder
Adam Toutain (Lewiston, Maine) was credited with four goals and an assist, senior attackman
Paul Purdy (Brewster, N.Y.) tallied three goals and two assists, sophomore
Brandon Asplundh (Bryn Athyn, Pa.) registered two goals and three assists and junior attackman
Dan Blinn (Longmeadow, Mass.) scored four goals for Springfield.
The Pride continues its Pilgrim League schedule this Saturday, hosting Babson College in a 1:00 game on Benedum Field.
