Men’s Gymnastics Defeats Southern In Springfield Invitational
SPRINGFIELD, Mass., December 7, 2003 – Springfield College senior
Tim Goetz (South Plainsfield, N.J.) placed second in the all-around competition (50.200), the parallel bars (8.200), the rings (9.100), and the pommel (8.650) as the Pride defeated Southern Connecticut in the Springfield Invitational this evening, 198.2-184.35.
SC junior
Nelson Jiminez (Salem, N.H.) contributed with a second place finish in the vault (9.000) and a fourth place finish in the high bar (8.000).
Southern Connecticut’s Curtis Haines led the way with first-place finishes in both the floor exercise (8.600) and the still rings (9.550).
MIT and Vermont were both scheduled for the meet, but could not make it due to inclement weather.
Springfield will next be at Army with Penn State on Saturday, January 10, in a 1:00 p.m. meet.
