Kellie Pennington (Monson, Mass.) was named the ECAC Division III New England Women's Swimmer of the Week, Jen Thompson (Cheshire, Conn.) earned the ECAC Division III New England Women's Diver of the Week award and Jack Lewis (Durham, N.H.) was named ECAC Division III New England Men's Diver of the Week.
Pennington had a career weekend at the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Championship, winning three individual events, swimming on three winning relay teams, breaking four school records and two conference records. The senior Physical Education major became the first swimmer in the history of the NEWMAC to win the conference's Swimmer of the Year award all four years of her career. Individually, she won the 50 free (23.11), the 100 free (50.18) and the 200 free, breaking her school record and the conference record with a winning time of 1:50.02.
For Thompson, this is her second ECAC Women's Diver of the Week award. The senior Health Science major continued her stellar season, being named the NEWMAC Diver of the Year for the second-straight season. On the one-meter board, Thompson won the title with a national qualifying score of 465.35. She registered a winning mark of 512.20 on the three-meter board, also a national qualifying score, to complete the sweep of the diving events.
On the men's side, Lewis received the regional honor for the fourth time this season. The Recreation Management major was named NEWMAC Diver of the Year for the first time in his career, after easily sweeping both diving events at the championship meet. He registered a national qualifying mark of 539.10 on the one-meter board and posted a winning score of 508.80 on the three-meter board, also a national qualifying mark.
Thompson and Lewis will compete again this weekend at RPI for the NCAA Diving Regionals.
