Amherst, Mass. - February 6, 2010 - The Springfield College women’s swimming & diving team lost to national-power Amherst College on Saturday, 177-109.
The Pride had a solid showing in the diving well on the afternoon. Sophomore Courtney Keefe notched a score of 241.80 on the one-meter for a second place finish. Michelle Reggio recorded a 241.57 for a third place finish on the one-meter. The three-meter saw Meghan Kijanka post a score of 260.10 for second place, and Keefe tally a 243.75 for third.
In the pool, sophomore Kaitlin Reilly cruised to a first place finish in the 100 free, touching in a time of 54.66. Sophomore Jennifer Carigan finished the 200 breaststroke in 2:33.76, good enough for second place.
The Pride will return to action on Friday, February 19 when it heads to Wellesley, Mass. to compete in the New England Women’s and Men’s Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Championships hosted by Wellesley College. SC will be competing for its 10th straight NEWMAC title in that meet.
