



Complete ResultsNew London, Conn. - April 10, 2010 - The Springfield College women's track and field team won the Coast Guard Tri-Meet on Saturday afternoon as it totaled 150 points. The Pride edged WPI by just two points, as the Engineers totaled 148 in the meet. Coast Guard finished third with 82 points on the afternoon.
Erika Marks took first in the 100 in a time of 12.18, and joined teammates Megan Libon, Crystal Davis, and Nikki Hay in winning the 4x100 in 50.09. Marks also teammed up with Lacey Cartier, Joy Jennifer, and Kelly Murphy to win the 4x400 relay in 4:07.96.
Hay went on to win the long jump in with a leap of 5.50m (18-00.50) and the triple jump with a distance of 11.23m (36-10.25).
Fatima Rose was victorious in the shot put with a toss of 11.81m (38-09.00), while teammate Colleen Brague won the javelin with a distance of 37.82m (124-01).
Jim Pennington enters his 29th season as head coach of the Springfield College women’s cross country and track and field teams in 2012-2013. Under Pennington’s direction, the Pride has recorded seven top 20 finishes at the NCAA Indoor and Outdoor Track & Field Championships, and seven top 15 finishes at the NCAA Cross Country Championships.
