Rote Earns Conference and Regional Weekly Accolades

Rote Earns Weekly Honors Babson Park, Mass. - January 14, 2013 - After leading the Springfield College men's basketball team to a pair of conference victories last week, Jordan Rote was selected as the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Men's Basketball Player of the Week and the ECAC Division III New England Co-Player of the Week.

Rote was named the conference's player of the week for the first time this season, and shared the regional award with Anthony Click from Anna Maria College.

For the week, Sheffield, Mass. product averaged 20 points per game, shooting 54.5% from the floor to go along with 6.5 rebounds, 3.0 steals, and 2.5 assists per game.

He opened the week with 10 points, six boards, and four helpers as the Pride knocked off MIT in a rematch of last year's conference championship.

Two days later, Rote was then tremendous in an overtime win at Babson as he produced a career-best 30 points. Rote connected on 8-of-14 field goal attempts to go along with a 13-for-14 showing at the charity stripe. He also added seven boards and three steals in the win.

Springfield is back in action on Wednesday evening when it hosts Wheaton at 7:00 pm.
