



Hartford, Conn. - October 8, 2009 - Erin Woodbury picked up a win at No. 4 singles but it was the Trinity College Bantams who went on to defeat the visting Springfield College women's tennis team, 7-2, in non-conference action Thursday afternoon. Trinity improves to 1-0 on the fall season while Springfield falls to 1-6. Trinity won two of three doubles matches and five singles matches, holding the Pride to just 17 points in their seven match wins. SC also picked up a win at No. 3 doubles as Beth Slotnick and Kristi Maltz won 8-4.
Springfield returns to action on Saturday afternoon when it hosts Wellesley. First serve is slated for 1:00 pm.

Toby Coffin G’01, enters his third year as the head men’s and women’s tennis coach at Springfield College. Coffin, who has coached at numerous high schools in the area, will look to build a program which will contend for a conference crown.
