



Complete ResultsBoston, Mass. - February 10, 2012 - The Springfield College women's track and field team had a great showing at the Valentine Invitational on Friday evening hosted by Boston University. Springfield's 4x400 relay team of Katie Schumann, Laurie Jenkins, Crystal Davis, and Gabby Gaudreault ran the ninth fastest time in the Division III this season after clocking in at 3:57.97.
The team of four ran their fastest time of the season, improving by nearly nine seconds on their previous best.
In the 400 dash, Schumann posted a time of 59.04, while Jenkins ran a time of 59.26, and Gaudreault posted a 59.52. Bethany Young finished the 500 dash in 1:25.08, and Jenn Kapinos crossed the finish line of the 800 in 2:20.45
Kelly Curtis also had a solid showing in the long jump with a distance of 16-01.75.
Jim Pennington enters his 29th season as head coach of the Springfield College women’s cross country and track and field teams in 2012-2013. Under Pennington’s direction, the Pride has recorded seven top 20 finishes at the NCAA Indoor and Outdoor Track & Field Championships, and seven top 15 finishes at the NCAA Cross Country Championships.
