Women's Cross Country Places 15th at ECAC Division III Championships
Bristol, R.I. – November 9, 2013 –
The Springfield College women’s cross country team raced at the ECAC Division III Championships on Saturday at Colt State Park and took 15th.
The Pride totaled 447 points en route to finishing 15th among the 47 teams in the competition.
Elizabeth Footit (Wilbraham, Mass.) led the way for the Pride finishing in 24:50 to take 70th. Abby Wright (Pittsfield, Mass.) was Springfield’s next finisher in 24:52 for 75th place, and Samantha Pomroy (Lebanon, Maine) in 83rd with a time of 25:02.
Jennifer Kapinos (Feeding Hills, Mass.) posted a time of 25:18, and Morgan Mrak (Southbury, Conn.) was the Pride’s fifth fastest runner after clocking in at 25:42.
Next up for Springfield is the NCAA New England Regionals, next Saturday at 12:00 pm.

Jim Pennington enters his 29th season as head coach of the Springfield College women’s cross country and track and field teams in 2013. Under Pennington’s direction, the Pride has recorded seven top 20 finishes at the NCAA Indoor and Outdoor Track & Field Championships, and seven top 15 finishes at the NCAA Cross Country Championships.
