



Springfield, Mass. - November 24, 2009 - The Springfield College wrestling team is currently ranked fourth in New England as a team, and seven members of the squad earned regional rankings as ndividuals in this week's New England Wrestling Association Coaches Poll and Rankings.Williams is currently ranked the top team in New England, followed by Wesleyan, Johnson & Wales, and Springfield, while Rhode Island College rounds out the top five.
Individually, seven Springfield wrestlers are ranked in the top six of their respective weight classes. Leading the way in the rankings was Blaze Chatham, who is currently tabbed the second best wrestler at 141 in New England, while Ron Fusco is currently ranked third at 285 for the Pride.
The Pride had four wrestlers ranked fourth at their weight as Eddie Giron (133), Ryan McGilvray (149), Ronald Thompson (165), and Bill Schady (197), all earned regional rankings.

Jason Holder will enter his third season as head wrestling coach in 2013. Holder had a standout first season at the helm of the Pride, leading Springfield to the NEWA Duals Championship and taking three wrestlers to the NCAA Championships.
