A 6-8 senior middle blocker for the nation's top-ranked team, Falcone helped the Pride improved their overall record to 12-3 after a perfect 4-0 weekend, including victories over Elms and Daniel Webster.
The Lindenhurst, N.Y. native finished the weekend with a combined 17 kills, .810 hitting percentage, three service aces and 11 blocks in just six sets. This is the 22nd time a Springfield athlete has been named the Sports Imports/AVCA Player of the Week, with the most recent coming on April 10th of last year when Jimmy O’Leary took home the honor. Falcone is now a two-time recipient after winning it on April 3rd, 2012.
The Pride will now prepare for a critical match up with in-state rival and No. 15 ranked MIT on Wednesday.
