Baseball Is Sixth Seed ECAC Tournament
CENTERVILLE, Mass., May 6, 2003 – Springfield College earned the sixth seed in the eight-team 2003 ECAC Division III New England Baseball Tournament that begins on Friday, May 9 at Brandeis University in Waltham, Mass.
The Pride (18-17) takes on No. 3 seed Johnson & Wales at 3:30 p.m.
In other the first-round action on Friday, Brandeis (19-9-1) will host Coast Guard (18-17) at 12 p.m. at Brandeis. Suffolk (27-12) will travel to Babson (19-17) for a 12 p.m. start,
while Salve Regina (21-9) will face Western New England College (20-17) at 3:30 p.m. also at Babson.
The first-round winners will advance to the semifinals on Saturday, May 10. The winner of Brandeis-Coast Guard will face the winner of Suffolk-Babson at 10 a.m., while the winner of Salve Regina-Western New England will play the winner of Johnson & Wales-Springfield at 10 a.m. in the other semifinal.
The semifinal winners will meet Saturday, May 10 at 2 p.m. for the championship, hosted by Brandeis.
