



Complete ResultsAlbany, N.Y. -- October 15, 2011 -- Michelle Mirti led the Springfield College women's cross country team to a 14th-place finish (of 23 teams) at today's Albany Invitational in New York. Mirti, a senior from Pompton Plains, N.J., finished 58th as an individual.
Springfield scored 418 points.
Behind Mirti for SC were a pair of freshmen. They were Nora Letendre (Northampton, Mass.) who placed 85th, and Sarah Knop (Eastham, Mass.), who finished 87th.
Behind Knop for the Pride were sophomore Gabriella Williams (Rutland, Mass.) in 93rd and sophomore Erica Fisher (Chicopee, Mass.) in 95th.
Others who competed for the Pride included junior Nicole DeCristoforo (North Kingston, R.I.) in 97th, and junior Katherine Burns (Billerica, Mass.) in 118th.
Up next, Springfield will compete in the NEWMAC Championships in Boston on Sun., Oct. 30.
Jim Pennington enters his 29th season as head coach of the Springfield College women’s cross country and track and field teams in 2013-2012. Under Pennington’s direction, the Pride has recorded seven top 20 finishes at the NCAA Indoor and Outdoor Track & Field Championships, and seven top 15 finishes at the NCAA Cross Country Championships.
