Coach Katie Hawke

Katie Hawke Katie Hawke has seen nothing but success on the turf since coming to Springfield College in 2005. Hawke has a four year coaching record of 44-27, (.620) leading her team to back-to-back New England Women’s and Men’s Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) championships and two trips to the NCAA Division III Tournament in 2005 and 2006. The NEWMAC has recognized Hawke’s efforts twice, garnering her with Coach of the Year honors in both 2005 and 2006. She was also named Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) Division III Berkshire Regional Coach of the Year after the 2006 campaign.

Before coming to Springfield College, Hawke coached at Mount Holyoke College, where she served as a visiting lecturer in physical education, and assistant women's lacrosse coach and head squash coach since 2001. Prior to joining the staff at Mount Holyoke, Hawke was the head women's lacrosse and field hockey coach at Elms College in Chicopee, Mass. She was voted the North Atlantic Conference (NAC) field hockey Coach of the Year in 2000.

From 1995 to 1999, she was the head of girl's physical education at the Queensbury School in Bradford, England. In 1999, Hawke came to the United States to pursue a master's of science degree in exercise and sports studies and serve as a graduate teaching fellow at Smith College. She was awarded her master's degree in May of 2001, and went on to hold visiting lecturer and coaching positions at Elms and Mount Holyoke. Hawke graduated with honors with a bachelor of education in physical education from Leeds Metropolitan University in England in May of 1992.
