Men's Gymnastics Falls To Army, 197.800-185.200
SPRINGFIELD, Mass., January 22, 2006 – Springfield College senior All-American
Aric Hines (Greensboro, N.C.) placed first in the pommel horse with an overall score of 8.45, but the Pride fell to the United States Military Academy, 197.800-185.200.
Defending ECAC champion Army was led by senior Mike Tiffany and sophomore Mike Assenmacher, who each won two events. Tiffany was victorious on the rings (9.05) and tied for first in the high bar competition (8.35), while Assenmacher won the floor exercise (8.80) and the vault (9.15) en route to winning the overall competition with a score of 48.05.
With the victory, the 11th-ranked Black Knights improve to 1-1 on the season while the Pride fell to 1-3. The Pride will face the Black Knights again next weekend at the Army Invitational, from January 27-28.
