



Babson Park, Mass. -- April 9, 2012 -- Kasey Kelly of the Springfield College softball team has been named the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference softball player of the week for the week that was just completed this past Saturday The senior second baseman from Poughkeepsie, N.Y. batted .583, had nine RBI, and nine runs scored.Kelly led her team to a 5-3 overall record, including a 4-0 mark against NEWMAC competition. She went 14-for-26 at the plate, including four doubles and two home runs. Her slugging percentage was a robust .885.
In an 8-0 five-inning victory over 16th-ranked Western Connecticut State, Kelly had four RBI.
SC will host MCLA for two Tuesday at 3:30 pm at Potter Field.

Julie Perrelli enters her fourth season at the helm of the Springfield College softball program and as an assistant professor of physical education. In her first three seasons in the dugout for the Pride, Perelli has guided Springfield to two NEWMAC Championship title games. Read more.
