-- Erin Pac '03
, who won the bronze medal in women's bobsledding in the most recent Winter Olympic Games in Vancouver, will be on campus next Tuesday night, April 13. She will be speaking about her Olympic experience in the Cleveland E. and Phyllis B. Dodge Room at the Richard B. Flynn Campus Union at 7 p.m. The Springfield College community is invited to attend.
Erin Pac is the only Springfield College alum who has ever won an Olympic medal in the Winter Olympic Games, and she is also the only Springfield College female alum who has ever won an Olympic medal.
Ranked sixth in the world and second among female bobsledders representing the USA at the most recent Olympic Games, Pac put together four good runs on Feb. 23-24, allowing her to finish third in this event. Pac is a former SC track heptathlete, who first tried out for bobsledding in the summer of 2002 on the advice and with the encouragement of her coach, Jim Pennington.
And now she has a great story to tell. A question and answer session with Pac will follow.
