CORTLAND, N.Y. - Nov. 14 - Springfield College junior
Peter Marques (Massapequa, N.Y.) compiled four wins enroute to a third-place showing in the 133-pound weight class leading the Pride in a non-scoring meet at the Empire Open on Sunday.
The Pride also had strong performances in the 141-pound weight class where sophomore All-American
Mike Gaeta (Manalapan, N.J.) came up with four wins to place fourth overall. SC senior
Scott Fay (Danbury, Conn.) placed fifth at 285 pounds. Fay scored a 4-2 decision over Matt Bogumil in the fifth place match to improve his season record to 9-2.
The Pride host the Doug Parker Invitational on Nov. 20 at 10:00 a.m. at Blake Arena.

Jason Holder will enter his third season as head wrestling coach in 2013. Holder had a standout first season at the helm of the Pride, leading Springfield to the NEWA Duals Championship and taking three wrestlers to the NCAA Championships.
