



KEENE, N.H., Sept. 7, 2005 – Springfield College sophomore forward Brittany Veazie (Dexter, Maine) had two goals and two assists, including the game-winning score in double overtime to lead the Pride past Keene State College, 4-3, at the Owl Athletic Complex on Wednesday night (Sept. 7). With the win, SC improves to a perfect 3-0 on the young season.
Coming down the left wing, Veazie’s shot found the far corner of the net for the winner at the 95:30 mark. In the first three games of the season, Veazie has scored an impressive four goals to go along with two assists for the Pride.
Trailing 3-2 at the half, Keene State tied the game on an unassisted goal by Amanda Rosenbeck four minutes into the second stanza. Seniors Amber Paradee (Sheldon, Vt.) and Sarah Brooker (Auburn, Maine) had the other two scores for SC.
The Pride will look to keep it going as they next host Middlebury College on Sunday, September 11th, in yet another non-conference match-up at Benedum Field.
After eight years as head coach of the Pride, Melissa Sharpe, has continued the SC tradition of winning on the field hockey turf, posting an impressive 120-58 record, good for a winning percentage of .674 at the helm of her alma mater. Read more.
