Keene, N.H - March 24, 2009 - The Springfield College women's lacrosse team used a four-goal, two-assist performance from Heather Dobson to topple Keene State, 14-4, in a non-conference matchup on Tuesday afternoon.
The win, the third-straight for the Pride, improves Springfield to 4-2 on the year. Keene State falls to 2-4 this season.
The Owls got single goals from junior Dene Tully, and sophomores Jill Kirk, Lauren Sawyer, and Jamie Albert in the loss.
Dobson's six points were tops on the Pride, while sophomore Kaeleigh Lannan added three goals and an assist, and junior Alexandra Bazzano chipped in with two goals.
Coming from behind the net, Albert scored KSC’s first goal of the game to make it 2-1. Springfield answered with six consecutive goals to go up 8-1. Dobson netted two of her goals during the flurry. Leading 9-2 at the half, the Pride netted the first two goals of the second half to go up 11-2.
Senior Jen Gearing and sophomore Meghan Ledoux (Standish, Me.) each played a half in goal for KSC. Gearing made seven saves and Ledoux turned aside three shots.
Junior Lauren McAulay started in goal for the Pride and made six saves. Freshman Katelyn Lavin played the final 13:31 and stopped three shots.
Springfield has won all seven games between the two teams.
The Pride return home to face Plymouth State on Thursday under the lights at Stagg Field at 6:00 pm.
