Field Hockey Lands Three Players On All-New England Region Team
SPRINGFIELD, Mass., Nov. 18, 2003 - Springfield College field hockey players
Kim Stevens, Brianne Tompkins and
Sarah Brooker were all named to the STX/National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) Division III New England East Region All-Star Team, announced today.
Stevens, a junior back from
North Knox, Maine, finished tied for sixth in the conference in goals (10) and tied for ninth in assists (six). Stevens led the Pride in points (26) as well as goals and assists.
Tompkins, a senior midfielder from
Stormville, N.Y., finished 10th in the conference in goals (nine). Tompkins was second on the team in points (20) and goals.
Brooker, a sophomore midfielder from
Auburn, Maine, finished tied for first on the squad in game-winning goals (two), and third in points (15) and goals (seven).
Springfield finished the season with a 16-10 record and in the championship game of the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Division III New England Field Hockey Tournament.
