



Complete ResultsBoston, Mass. - February 27, 2010 - The Springfield College men’s track & field team competed in the New England Indoor Track & Field Championship on Saturday afternoon at Boston University. The Pride finished in 14th place with 18 points, while Connecticut captured the title amassing 140 points.
Steve Headley competed against the top sprinters in New England and dominated the field in the 55-meter, winning the New England Championship in 6.34.
The 1,000-meter saw Troy French finish fourth in 2:30.04, the third fastest time in school history. Zach Pietras also had a good showing, finishing in 2:33.04 for seventh place.
In the 4x400 relay the quartet of Tom Brognano, Chris Quetant, Kevin Behlmer, and Nickel Hay finished in 3:19.51 for a seventh-place finish.
All earned All-New England honors for finishing in the top eight of their respective races.
The Pride will return to action next Friday as it competes in the ECAC Division III Championships, hosted by Smith College in Northampton, Mass.

Ken Klatka, just inducted into the Springfield College Athletic Hall of Fame in October, 2011, enters his 37th season as head coach of the men’s track and field program in 2012-2013. He ranks among the nation’s most successful coaches, with an overall record of 442 wins, 144 losses, and two ties for an impressive .753 winning percentage. Under his direction, Kevin Coyle '12 won the 2011 Division III Indoor Long Jump National Championship.
