



New York, N.Y. - March 3, 2013 - Gabby Gaudreault won the 800 meters to lead the Springfield College women's track and field team at the ECAC Division III Championships held at the Armory in New York City this weekend.As a team, the Pride finished eighth out of 49 scoring teams with a total of 24 points.
Gaudreault just missed the Armory Division III record as she ran a personal best time of 2:12.43. With her time, she automatically qualified for the upcoming NCAA Division III Championships, which will be held March 8-9 in Naperville, Ill.
Amanda Martin placed fifth in the triple jump after recording a leap of 37 feet, 2.5 inches. Springfield's 4x400 relay team ran a winning time of 3:54.33, which met provisionally qualifying standards for the NCAA's.
Jim Pennington enters his 29th season as head coach of the Springfield College women’s cross country and track and field teams in 2012-2013. Under Pennington’s direction, the Pride has recorded seven top 20 finishes at the NCAA Indoor and Outdoor Track & Field Championships, and seven top 15 finishes at the NCAA Cross Country Championships.
