Springfield, Mass. - January 26, 2009 - For the sixth time this season, Brian Sobel has been selected as the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) as well as the ECAC Men's Diver of the Week. Sobel earned the award after sweeping both boards in a dual meet this weekend at Williams.Sobel took first on the three-meter board as he scored a 305.93. On the one-meter, Sobel took first with a 303.45, over 50 points higher than the second-place finisher. Both scores were once again national qualifying scores for the NCAA Championships.
John Taffe enters his 24th season in 2012-2013 as the head coach of the men's and women's swimming teams at Springfield College. Under Taffe’s leadership, the Pride has returned to its status as one of the best collegiate swimming and diving programs in Division III. Read more.
Peter Avdoulos is regarded as one of the top diving coaches in the nation, and will enter his 28th season as the diving coach for both the men's and women's programs in 2012-2013.
