



Springfield, Mass. - February 22, 2012 - The third-seeded Springfield College men's basketball team will make its run at the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Men's Basketball Championship and an automatic bid to the NCAA Championship this weekend. The Pride will take on second-seeded WPI at 3:00 pm at top-seeded MIT.The tournament semifinals will be played on Saturday at 1:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. with the NEWMAC championship game to follow on Sunday at 1:00 p.m.
MIT will face the winner of the opening round matchup between the fourth-seeded Babson College at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. No. 2 WPI and No. 3 Springfield College will square off in the second semifinal. This season, WPI and Springfield split the season series with each team winning on their home courts. The two games were decided by a combined three points.
Live stats and streaming video will be available for all three games to be played at Rockwell Cage this weekend.
Ticket prices will be $4 for adults, $2 for seniors and $1 for students with a valid ID.

Semifinals: Saturday, February 25 at MIT:
#4 Babson at #1 MIT - 1:00 p.m.
#3 Springfield vs. #2 WPI - 3:00 p.m.
Championship: Sunday, February 26 at MIT:

Charlie Brock in 2012-13 will enter his 15th season as the head coach at Springfield College and his 33rd season as a head coach overall. Brock’s achievements as a coach are certainly impressive. He has taken three schools to the NCAA Division III Tournament and has an overall, 32-year record of 440-397. Read more.
