Field Hockey To Host "Play 4 The Cure" Day on Saturday Against WPI

Field Hockey To Host Springfield, Mass. - October 6, 2010 - The Springfield College field hockey team will once again participate in The Play 4 the Cure movement, which benefits the Susan G. Komen Foundation for breast cancer research and awareness. The Pride will hold its breast cancer awareness day on Saturday when it takes on WPI at 1:00 pm.

As a team, Springfield will be selling t-shirts for $15 each, with the proceeds benefiting the Susan G. Komen Foundation. The Pride will also be wearing pink shinguards and pink bracelets, while pink game balls will be used during the game. Springfield College is requesting that fans wear pink apparel to this contest.

Springfield enters the game with a 5-5 record, including a 2-1 mark in New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) play. WPI is 4-7 this year and is 0-3 in league action.
