Lacey Cartier: Women's Cross Country

Lacey Cartier has been chosen Springfield College's Female Maroon Club Athlete of the Week (Nov. 5) as she led the women's cross country team to a 12th-place overall finish in the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Championships this past weekend.

A freshman from York, Maine, Cartier led the Pride to a 12th place finish out of 31 teams. In a race comprised of Division III schools from throughout New England as well as New York, Pennsylvania, and New Jersey, Cartier was outstanding.

She crossed the finish line of the 6000 meter course at Mt. Greylock High School in Williamstown, Mass., in a time of 23:26. By besting her career-best time by nearly a minute, Cartier finished 13th out of 242 runners in the race and picked up All-ECAC honors for her efforts.

Cartier and the Pride will next race at the NCAA Division III New England Regionals on Saturday, November 10 in Waterford, Conn..
