



New Orleans, La. - February 17, 2011 - Sophomore Ryan O’Connell was honored for his effort in the classroom this season as he earned 2010 USTFCCCA Division III All-Academic Cross Country honors.For a student-athlete to qualify for the All-Academic Team, they must have a cumulative grade point average of 3.30 or greater during the most-recent semester, and they must have placed in the top 35 at an NCAA Regional Championship. 142 students from 80 institutions make up the group this year.
At the New England Regionals, the sophomore from Middleboro, Mass., recorded a time of 26:35.5 to finish in 32nd place in a race containing 333 runners.
Bryan Brown will enter his second season as the head men's cross country coach in the fall of 2012. Brown, who was a former All-American at Springfield College in track, led Springfield to a second-place finish at the NEWMAC Championships a year ago .
