



Wellesley, Mass. -- March 19, 2012 -- Jen Joseph of the Springfield College softball team has been named this week's New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference Softball Pitcher of the Week. The right-hander had a 3-0 mark with an impressive 0.26 ERA in leading SC to a 6-3 record on its just-concluded Spring Break trip.A native of Stamford, Conn., Joseph put together outstanding numbers in Kissimmee, Florida. Those numbers included two complete games, with 19 strikeouts, only six walks, in giving up 10 hits and one earned run in 27 total innings.
The sophomore athletic training major had a two-hit 1-0 shutout win over Rutgers-Camden as well as a two-hit 4-0 shutout win over Endicott.
Joseph was also named Springfield College's Female Maroon Athlete of the Week this week.

Julie Perrelli enters her fifth season at the helm of the Springfield College softball program and as an assistant professor of physical education. Coming off her first ever NEWMAC title and a NCAA berth she has compiled a 102-69 mark with a .590 winning percentage. Read more.
