Williams Tops Women's Soccer, 3-0
SPRINGFIELD, Mass., Sept. 10, 2002- Springfield College senior goalkeeper
Christine McCarey (Middleboro, Mass.) made 12 saves but visiting Williams defeated the Pride, 3-0, in a non-conference women’s soccer match-up at Brock-Affleck Field.
Williams senior Stacey Starner scored what proved to be the game winner in the ninth minute for the Ephs (1-0). Starner also assisted on junior Claire Samuel’s goal in the 51st minute. Junior Kristin Van Woert also had a goal and an assist.
The Pride (0-2) host Eastern Conn. State on Sat., Sept 14 at 3 p.m.

John Gibson, a native of London, England, enters his 13th season as head women's soccer at Springfield College in the fall of 2012. Gibson has led the Pride to the NCAA Tournament in five of the last seven years and has established the Pride as one of the top programs in the country.
