The action will kick off on Saturday afternoon at 1:00 pm when the Springfield College women's basketball team takes on Colby-Sawyer for the first of four games that day. The Springfield College men's team will play the final game of the day on Saturday when they square off against Salve Regina at 7:30 pm. In between Springfield's games, Wesleyan and Western Connecticut will play at 3:00 pm in women's basketball action, and Wesleyan and SUNY Purchase will play at 5:30 pm in men's action.

Salve Regina University (1-7)
After a tough opening to the season, Salve Regina is coming off its first win against Connecticut College. The Seahawks are led by Dan Royce's 17.3 points and 11.3 rebounds per game as he is shooting over 46% from the floor. Jabreche Boyd has chipped in with 14.9 points per contest.
Springfield College (2-8)
Senior forward Pat Crean has been a catalyst for the Pride 10 games into the season as he has posted 18.8 points and six rebounds per game averages. Teammate Matt Cavalieri has also been a major contributor for the Pride, averaging 15.2 points per game.
SUNY Purchase (4-3)
The Panthers enter the Hampton Inn/Naismith Classic with a 4-3 mark and have won four of its last five games. Marvin Billups leads the team in scoring with 18.7 points per game, while Corey Orgias has added 14 points and 7.1 rebounds per contest.
Wesleyan University (4-4)
With nine freshmen on the fifteen man roster, underclassmen have played a prominent role in Wesleyan's 4-4 record this season. Wesleyan is led by freshman guard Sasha Brown, who is averaging 21.1 points per game, while sophomore Jason Mendell has also averaged 12.1 points this season.

Colby-Sawyer College (3-5)
The Chargers of Colby-Sawyer College enter the Classic with a 3-5 mark. The squad is led by senior Terri Duffy who is averaging 11.5 points and 9.2 rebounds per contest. Freshman Sammi Lehr has been a strong presence in the paint for the Chargers early in her career as she leads the team in rebounds with 10.4 per game and minutes played with 31.1 per game.
Springfield College (3-6)
The Pride are led by forward Amelia Sapowsky. The junior is leading the team in points (9.4 per game), rebounds (6.6 per game), blocks (1.6 per game) and shooting percentage (52.1%). Sophomore co-captain Kelly Murphy is also a player to watch as she is averaging 8.9 points per game.
Wesleyan University (4-3)
Wesleyan University is led by Sam LaCroce's 13.4 points and 7.1 rebounds per game this season. Eileen Gaffney has also been a key contributor, averaging 12.9 points per contest. Wesleyan owns a 4-3 record heading into the weekend’s play.
Western Connecticut State University (7-2)
Western Connecticut State sits at 7-2 overall and is led by junior center Melissa Teel. Teel has blocked 38 shots through nine games, an average of 4.2 blocks per game, and is averaging 13.7 rebounds per game. Heather Lee leads the Colonials in scoring, averaging 15.7 points per game.
