Springfield College Home Football Games To Air On ESPN 1450 The Hall

Springfield College Home Football Games To Air On ESPN 1450 The Hall Springfield, Mass. - August 27, 2012 - Springfield College has once again partnered with ESPN 1450 The Hall to broadcast its five home football games for the upcoming 2012 campaign.

Last year marked the inaugural year of the partnership, with four home football games hitting the airways. Coupled with Springfield College's increased video-streaming efforts, the partnership provides families, friends, and fans of Springfield College athletics another opportunity to follow the football team this season.

In addition to being able to listen on 1450 AM, the games will be audio streamed on http://www.espnspringfield.com as well as on the Springfield College website, http://www.springfieldcollege.edu/athletics.

Anchoring the play-by-play again will be Springfield College faculty member Kyle Belanger, who will be assisted by several students from the Communications/Sports Journalism major. Those students include Sam Dostaler, Jimmy Kelley, and Samantha Read.

“After the incredible success we experienced last year, we are so excited to continue the partnership between Springfield College and ESPN Radio,” said Belanger. “This opportunity provides an ideal setting for students in the Communications/Sports Journalism major to gain invaluable real-life experience, while continuing to promote Springfield College athletics on the national level.”

The Pride will kick off the season on September 1 when it hosts Bridgewater State under the lights on Stagg Field at 7:00 pm. Springfield’s four other home games include Mount Ida (Sept. 15), Rochester (Sept. 22), Merchant Marine (Oct. 13), and RPI (Nov. 3).
