



Complete ResultsOctober 6, 2012 - Adam Ziewacz fired a 73 in the opening day of the 2012 NECC Championships to help guide the Springfield College golf team to a first-place tie after the opening round of competition. As a team, Springfield is tied with Babson with 308 strokes.
Elms is two strokes back with a 310, while Newbury sits a distance fourth with a 335. Becker (343), Daniel Webster (356), and Mitchell (384) round out the field.
The sophomore was one of three players in the field to shoot a +2 over at Passaconaway Country Club. Teammate Tom Vollaro is currently tied for fifth overall with a 76, as he tallied the lowest nine hole score for the Pride after registering a 34 on the front. Chris Vincent is tied for ninth after posting a 79.
Kyle DiFranco recorded a 40 on both the front and back nine to finish with an 80, good enough for an 11th-place tie. Tom Sangeloty is in a tie for 14th with an 81 after rebounding with a 36 on the back nine.
Joe Eadie enters his 20th season as the head men's golf coach at Springfield College in the fall of 2012. Eadie is the head golf professional at the Fenway Golf Range in nearby East Longmeadow, and is in the process of becoming a PGA Professional. He also lead the Pride to their first NCAA Division III Championship in program history. Read more.
