Cunningham once again was a staple in the Pride's backfield, despite Springfield falling to Hartwick, 37-34, on Saturday afternoon. Cunningham finished with 116 yards on the ground and a touchdown as he averaged 6.4 yards per carry. His 68-yard touchdown scamper in the second quarter sparked a Pride comeback that ultimately fell just short.
The Manchester, Conn. native has had a standout freshman season. Since the Husson game on October 6, the first-year fullback has rushed for 504 yards at a 6.5 yard per carry clip, and found the end zone on six occasions. He has averaged just over 100 yards per game in the past five games and has hit the century mark in the past three contests.
Cunningham and the Pride wrap up the regular season at home this Saturday (Nov. 10) when they host Norwich University. Kick-off is slated for 12:00 pm.
