Babson Park, Mass. - May 17, 2012 - The New England Intercollegiate Baseball Association (NEIBA) announced the 2012 Division III All-New England Teams which featured 51 athletes from across the region. Senior Karl Quist was named to the third team as a designated hitter.A New Preston, Conn. native, Quist's senior season was the best of his collegiate career as he led the Pride to a 20-15 record and a second-place finish in New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) regular season.
This year, the designated hitter led the team with a .362 batting average while starting all 35 games. He led the squad with 50 hits, including 13 doubles, and produced 25 RBI. He also scored 25 runs and totaled a slugging percentage of .507.
Former Springfield College standout Mark Simeone will enter his 18th season as the head baseball coach at his alma mater in 2014. The 2012 NEWMAC Coach of the Year, Simeone will lead a veteran squad this spring. Read more.
