Women's Track & Field Finishes Second At Tufts

MEDFORD, Mass. Jan. 25, 2003 - Springfield College junior Marisa Clapp (Winchendon, Mass.) finished first in the 1,500-meter run (4:51. 62) and second in the 1,000-meter run (2:59.09) to lead the Pride to second place out of 11 teams at the Tufts Invitational, Saturday. Host Tufts won the meet with 173 points followed by Springfield (109.5) and New York University (85).

SC's Alisha Miner ran to first in the 500-meter run (1:20.36) and fourth in the 200-meter run (27.63), while sophomore Sarah Martin (Madison, N.H.) grabbed first in the triple jump with a jump of 32 feet, 9 1/2 inches.
