Men's Lacrosse Defeats Conn. College, 12-7

SPRINGFIELD, Mass., April 9, 2003 – Springfield College sophomore midfielder
Adam Cost (Camilus, N.Y.) scored four goals to lead the Pride to a 12-7 victory over Connecticut College this afternoon on Benedum Field.
Freshman
Taylor Brown (Portsmouth, R.I.) added two goals and three assists, while sophomore goaltender
P.J. Rovinelli (Framingham, Mass.) made 13 saves for SC (4-4).
After taking a 6-3 halftime lead, Springfield outscored the Camels 5-2 in the decisive third quarter, including three goals by Cost in a span of 3:09, to give the Pride an 11-5 lead after three quarters. The Camels were able to muster a pair of man-up goals in the final 8:16, including one of senior midfielder
Ryan Childs’ (Boxborough, Mass.) two goals, but SC held on for its third victory in its last four contests.
Senior attackman
Kevin Burke (Beverly, Mass.) led Connecticut College (5-3) with two goals and an assist.
Junior attackman
Paul Purdy (Brewster, N.Y.), who compiled two goals and an assist, was one of seven players with at least one goal for Springfield.
