No. 9 Field Hockey Cruises Past Clark, 3-1
WORCESTER, Mass., --October 16, 2004 – Springfield College junior
Meg Bascetta (Granby, Conn.) scored a goal and added an assist as the No. 9 Pride defeated Clark, 3-1, in New England Women’s and Men’s Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) field hockey action this afternoon.
SC (12-3, 5-0 NEWMAC) junior
Amber Paradee (Sheldon, Vt.) notched the first goal of the match off a feed from Bascetta at the 14:53 mark in the first half. Junior
Alisha Miner (Sanbornton, N.H.) gave the Pride a 2-0 lead just seven minutes later thanks to a pass from senior
Lydia Grant (Granby, Conn.).
Stevens added an insurance goal for SC when she found the back of the cage with 22:36 remaining in the game. Clark (9-4, 3-2 NEWMAC) would finish the scoring when Meredith Countemanche tallied a goal with less than five minutes remaining.

Lindsey Pardue (Houston, Texas) collected nine saves in goal for the Pride. Her counterpart, Caitlin Kelley stopped 12 shots for the Cougars.
The Pride takes on No. 17 Ithaca tomorrow in a non-conference battle on Benedum Field at 1:00 p.m.
