Men's Track & Field Places 11th At New England Intercollegiate Championship

DURHAM, N.H, May 10, 2003 - Springfield College senior Michael Heitkamp (Orwell, Vt.) finished sixth in the high jump (1.96 m) and eighth in the javelin throw (55.33 m) to lead the Pride to an 11th place showing at the 2003 New England Intercollegiate Championship this weekend at the University of New Hampshire.

Junior Paul Jaroszewicz (E. Longmeadow, Mass.) sprinted his way to a third place finish in the 200-meter dash (21.81) while sophomore Blake Gulino (Old Saybrook, Conn.) placed third in the long jump (6.81 m).

Junior Jason Mandolesi (Wilbraham, Mass.) finished seventh in the discus throw (44.13 m).

SC's 4X100 meter relay team placed fifth (42.89) while the 4X400 meter relay team took home a fourth place finish (3.17.88).
