Women’s Track & Field Finishes 29th at New England Championships

BOSTON, February 26, 2005 – Springfield College junior
Yasmin Goris (Worcester, Mass.) earned All-New England honors after finishing fifth in the 55-meter dash (7.39 seconds) and senior
Amanda Alpert (Saugus, Mass.) finished eighth in the shot put (39 feet-7.25 inches) at the New England Championships on Saturday at Boston University.
The Pride placed 29th out of 33 scoring teams in a field of Division I, II, and III schools throughout New England. Boston College took the team title with 125.5 points, followed by UConn (116), and UMass-Lowell (81).
SC travels to Yale University on Friday, March 4 for the Trinity Last Chance Invitational

Jim Pennington enters his 29th season as head coach of the Springfield College women’s cross country and track and field teams in 2012-2013. Under Pennington’s direction, the Pride has recorded seven top 20 finishes at the NCAA Indoor and Outdoor Track & Field Championships, and seven top 15 finishes at the NCAA Cross Country Championships.
