Kogut Selected as NEWMAC Athlete of the Week

Shanda Kogut Springfield, Mass. - November 10, 2008 - After being a key part in the women's soccer team winning the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference Championships this weekend, Shanda Kogut was selected as the NEWMAC Player of the Week.

Kogut played exceptionally well as the Pride won the 2008 NEWMAC Women's Soccer Championship in thrilling fashion on Sunday. The senior midfielder tallied a goal in the Pride's 4-0 win over MIT on Saturday. In the finals, Kogut was a threat throughout the game and provided the Pride with multiple scoring chances with her play.

John Gibson John Gibson, a native of London, England, enters his 13th season as head women's soccer at Springfield College in the fall of 2012. Gibson has led the Pride to the NCAA Tournament in five of the last seven years and has established the Pride as one of the top programs in the country.
