Erin Pac Wins New England Championship In Heptathlon
SPRINGFIELD, Mass., May 4, 2002-Williams College repeated as team champion at the 2002 Division III New England Women's Outdoor Track & Field Championships held today at Springfield College's Blake Track.

Erin Pac (Farmington, Conn.) followed up an outstanding performance at the Penn Relays on April 25 by winning the New England Championship in the heptathlon with 4,331 points. Pac, who finished sixth in the event at the Penn Relays, provisionally qualifies for the NCAA Division III Championship in the heptathlon.
The Ephs won five events en route to the overall team championship. Defending national champion Wheaton (133.50) finished second on the strength on eight event winners, including four meet record-setting performances. Colby (55), Bowdoin (47.50) and WPI (43.70) rounded out the top five.

Under Pennington’s direction, the Pride has recorded seven top 20 finishes at the NCAA Indoor and Outdoor Track & Field Championships, and seven top 15 finishes at the NCAA Cross Country Championships.
