Women's Gymnastics Splits Tri-meet

SPRINGFIELD, Mass., March 2, 2003 – Springfield College junior Jenny Romano-Joseph (Shutesbury, Mass.) placed first on the floor exercise (9.600), but Southern Connecticut (185.725) won a tri-meet with the Pride (183.450) and Rhode Island College (182.750) in Blake Arena Sunday afternoon.

Pride sophomore Amanda Roth (Bloomsfield, N.Y.) tied for third place (with Southern Connecticut's Kristan Silvestri) on the floor exercise (9.550) and placed fourth on the balance beam (9.425).

Southern Connecticut junior Kristan Silvestri won the all-around competition with a score of 38.000. Silvestri placed first on the vault (9.450), first on the bars (9.475), second on the beam (9.525), and tied for third on the floor exercise (9.550).

Springfield College will be on the road Friday, March 14 at the ECAC Championship at SUNY-Cortland.
